+ Latest user manual included within this app

2) New V32 firmware

Note: If you are using the above mentioned iPad app, the iUSBportCAMERA firmware will be updated to V32 automatically by the app. It is not necessary to follow the below steps unless the iPad app is not working properly.

2.1) Download IUSBPCAM.SEF to the main directory of a USB flash drive.
2.2) Insert USB drive into the USB port of the iUSBportCAMERA device
2.3) Turn on iUSBportCAMERA device
2.4) Display will show “Update?″. Press power button once to confirm.
2.5) Device takes about a minute to update firmware and will shutdown automatically when done.

3) New Safari/Chrome web app

The new Safari/Chrome web app is included in the above mentioned V32 firmware. This web app allows iUSBportCAMERA to be used with any device with a Safari/Chrome web browser (e.g. iPhone, Android, Mac, Windows)

Known limitations
- Remember to turn off live view when you are done as closing the web browser/app will not disengage the camera from live view.
- Touch focusing may not work with some Nikon cameras. We will fix this in the next version
- Older Android devices may be slow at running this web app due to limited processing power.

How to use web app
3.1) Connect your camera to iUSBportCAMERA and turn both devices on.
3.2) Connect your Android/iOS/Mac/PC to the same Wi-Fi network as iUSBportCAMERA
3.3) Open Safari or Chrome web browser and enter the IP address of iUSBportCAMERA (http://192.168.0.1) in the URL address bar
3.4) You will see the “CameraControl.html” icon. Select this icon to open Camera Control.
3.5) Web app will see the camera and a green button will light up. If the web app shows a red button, it means that another device is already connected to the camera.
3.6) Don’t forget to tap the green button to turn off camera live view when you are done as closing the web browser/app will not disengage live view.

4) New “iUSBport Pipe” software for Mac/PC

This software will automatically download images from the iUSBportCAMERA to a specified folder on the Mac or PC

4.1) Download (Mac/PC) and unzip the “iUSBport Pipe” software
4.2) Connect iUSBportCAMERA device via USB cable to your camera
4.3) Turn on the camera and iUSBportCAMERA
4.4) When you see “Self-Control Mode?” on the iUSBportCAMERA LCD screen, tap the power button once to activate self-control mode.
4.5) Connect your computer to the same Wi-Fi network as iUSBportCAMERA
4.6) Open the “iUSBport Pipe” software
4.7) In the software, enter the IP address of iUSBportCAMERA (default is 192.168.0.1)
4.8) Select a folder where the incoming images will save to
4.9) Select to import RAW, JPG or both types of images
4.10) Click “Start” to begin importing
4.11) You can use Adobe Lightroom or any software to watch and auto import from the folder. In Lightroom 4, it’s File>Auto Import>Auto Import Settings>Choose Watched Folder>Enable Auto Import.

I’m a kickstarter “converter” and I must say Sanho’s effort to bring the iUSBportCamera into a usable state has been great and well appreciated.
Despite being an Android user, investing first into a good webApp is for me the better approach since it can be used across several platforms and I’m fine with it.

I do hope to see an Android app in the future but I would live fine with a webapp will all the advanced features.

First thank you for working hard on updating this product !!

I do have some questions. I’ve tried to transfer raw images and either I’m not doing something correctly or it is not supported. If this is not supported is it going to be ? Along this line, when I have my Canon 5d mkiii set to raw and jpg, the transfer says raw+jpg and it does take longer to complete. When I’m in the iPad app, under local pictures, I see a funny file name i.e. img_4488_cr2.jpg. This file is about the same size as other jpg, so why did it take longer to transfer ? If I’m doing some studio work, I will want Lightroom watch a folder for raw images not jpgs.

I tried “Self Control” mode. I was able to use file manager in Win 7 to look at the shared drive on the unit. I saw all the directories except “CameraShare”. After playing around I discovered if I took an image on the camera THEN the “CameraShare” folder was visable. Not sure why but maybe something to put in your FAQs.

I don’t have any facts to back this up, but this version seems to transfer file faster than before. I know it feels MUCH faster than before I upgraded to the Sanho firmware.

Thanks for all your time and help.

    Ken

I tried the iUSBPortPipe application and ran into problems. When I run the exe I get the error “Cannot download the application. The application is missing required files. Contact application vendor for assistance.”

I did save the error file if that would help. I’m on a Win 7 machine with all the current updates. The file I downloaded was “iUSPportCAMERA Pipe Windows V1.0.exe” size 457kb.

In the iUSBport v1.5 app, only JPG is displayed on iPad, so you see the JPG file is in the Local folder. But the app is still processing the same RAW+JPG file from camera and send only JPG image to iPad. If camera just send a JPG file to the iUSBport app, then the transfer speed will be much faster.

Images from the Camera Share folder are virtual images, it will be gone once the camera is disconnected from computer.
I will post the question in the FAQ online at HyperShop.com
